According to the Regulations on drug registration of China, the import drugs are specified as three general categories:
1. Chemical Drugs
Category 1: The chemical drug never being marketed in any country /region all over the world and the ex-China clinical trials being at least in the stage of Phase II .
Category 3: The chemical drug being marketed in some country (region)(no matter in China or ex-China), and marketing approval obtained in its country/region of manufacture.
2. Herbal Medicines/ Botanic Medicine
